I-Team: Unlawful contact

This book is written in both Hunt and Sophie POW
It starts in 1996 with Hunt and Sophie.

12 years later Sophie is covering pregnancies and birth in jail.
Megan Rawling has a little baby called Emily… Megan is just out of jail and can for the fist time in 7 month hold her baby girl… she kidnaps Emily and they find half an ounce of heroin.

Later Sophie gets an anonymous tip to talk to Megan’s brother Marc Hunter.
Marc is a lifer, for murder of a fellow DEA agent, and possession of heroin
Sophie interviews him… and is kidnapped. She tries to escape and for that effort only gets hypothermia, she blacks out.

When she finally wakes, she is naked in a sleeping bag with Hunter. After she tortures his nuts and he calls her Spirit (Hunt’s nickname for her), she finds out he is “Hunt”.
They kiss until she remembers, oh right he is running from the law, and he kidnapped her.

Marc call the police with her location and they come and get her, the police “interviews” her.

There is an inmate in Denver county jail that dies of a heroin overdose, Sophie covers that story
Marc then talks with the Rawlings (Megan’s adopted parents) they are cold and there’s no love lost.
They are going on vacation; he tells them it’s good because Megan’s big bad brother has escaped prison. So he crashes there when they are gone.

That night he breaks in to Sophie’s apartment and asks for help. She has already asked for the record of Megan and the other girls rape in juvenile detention.

There is another overdose both girls were around Megan's age

The DOC says there is no record of the "incident" (guards raping under age girls). So she goes to Ken Harburg (Megan parole officer) to see if he can get it for her. Marc shows up, but no one recognizes him, praise the lord... and the only thing he did was cut his hair and remove the beard.

Later that night, she gets pulled over... and they find heroin - anyone else seeing a reacquiring theme.

She goes to jail for a night, and a guard comes to her cell, though he does not get a chance to go in since he is called away.

Marc goes to her place looking for drugs... and he finds them he leave just before the k-9 unit came along

There is a court hearing and she bails out, she returns to the paper only to be suspended with pay. She is in a fog and when Marc comes around with the Jag she simply jumps in. They go to the Rawling house. And sleep together after a crying jag and smaller crisis is averted.

They check the Rawling house for clues about Megan and where she could be.
They start making connection between the recent OD's and Megan.. and it's not a pretty picture.
They go to visit one of the OD girls parents and that ends... well it ends more or less bad

They get back to the Rawling house find videos of Megan's youth find a Girl camp, they go to the church... but the bad guys have already been there and told the pastor she was bad news.
They find the old camp and there she is.
